KWI are specialists in Dissolved Air Flotation technology for water and wastewater treatment. They are recognised world leaders in Clarification and DAF technology with over 4,300 installations in over 77 countries, including New Zealand.
KWI (formerly Krofta) hold over 35 patents with many pending provide exceptional quality based on a strong R&D bias towards continuous improvements in product function and costs.
There are seven major product lines for applications from water and municipal waste water to food and beverage, paper, and a large range of industrial applications
- DAF clarifiers and sludge thickeners
- Combination DAF and sand filtration
- Inclined plate DAF clarifiers
- Super-efficient horizontal and vertical DAF units
- Super-efficient DAF units – from small flows to high inlet concentrations
- From very high flow rate clarifiers
- High efficiency screens and sand filters
Primary wastewater treatment technologies include:
With applications in food processing plants and diaries where oils, fats and greases need to be removed; and for municipal effluent before biological treatment.
Biological wastewater sludge clarification and thickening technologies include:
KWI SedicellTM – combined settlement and flotation to produce up to 6% biomass sludge
Fine Clarification and water polishing technologies include:
Combination clarifier and fine double media sand filtration provides both primary clarification and removal of organic and inorganic contaminants. The addition of the KS sand filter (with continuous backwash) can be added for tertiary treatment or polishing.
Developed initially for the paper industry, DAF technologies have been used in de-inking plants, non-woven products, rubber, petrochemicals, coal dust recovery, and many, many more applications.
