Don’t miss out! IFAT, the world´s leading trade fair for water, sewage and waste management is fast approaching!
INVENT is the world leader in mixing and aeration technology for water and wastewater treatment plants. At IFAT they will be showcasing their complete product portfolio ranging from efficient stirring and mixing solutions for almost every application in the water and wastewater industry through to their innovative aeration technology range, as well as complete system solutions for biological wastewater treatment.
JIPl will be at their stand and on hand to show you around – Hall A2 Booth 327 / 426
INVENT will also run presentations about their fluid mechanical engineering services which include hydraulic modeling as well as sophisticated CFD simulations on their High-Performance Computer.
iDISC®- Membrane Fine Bubble Diffuser
JIPL’s partner INVENT utilised intense research and over 30 years of experience in the aeration field to develop the iDISC®- Membrane Fine Bubble Diffuser. The innovative concept of the iDISC®- Membrane Diffuser is the combination of sophisticated design and robust construction resulting in its capability to operate over a wide air flow range whilst achieving high SOTE.
This assists most wastewater treatment plants around the world to reduce their energy consumption, therefore reducing their operating costs.
Design
The iDISC®- Membrane Diffuser design was driven by fluid mechanical and mechanical strength considerations. It consists of the main diffuser body which attaches to the air pipe by a sturdy saddle connection which is secured with a wedge clamp. The flexible membrane sits on a rigid membrane support. This is integrated into the diffuser body and secured by a retaining ring.
The complete iDISC®- Aeration System consists of the INVENT process design, all air distribution piping at the bottom of the tank including connection joints, adjustable pipe saddles, stainless steel anchors, the condensate drainage system, and the iDISC®- Membrane Diffusers. The system is delivered in prefabricated components. This makes installation in the field safe, easy and fast.
For the Tahuna WWTP upgrade project JIPL supplied new aeration systems for the plant’s three sedimentation tanks. The system is based on the i-Disc EPDM Membrane Fine Bubble Diffuser.
Invent i-Disc’s modular diffuser system, with bayonet fitting diffuser bodies, quick change aeration media and prefabricated piping elements, provided minimum installation and maintenance downtime, as well as the ultimate flexibility.
Manufactured in Europe to the highest EU standards, the Invent i-Disc 260 diffuser includes three levels of backflow prevention, as well as a flow limiting valve.
The Invent i-Disc 260 Membrane Disc Diffusers are designed for both continuous and intermittent use.
In the Invent fine bubble aeration systems, pressurised air is distributed through pipe work to the diffusers. The grids of pipes with diffusers installed, called an aeration group, cover the whole tank floor and the pipe work is fixed to the basin bottom.
The aeration system was delivered to the Tahuna site as a complete kit and included all necessary accessories for installation. The prefabricated, modular elements (pipes were cut to length) made installation fast and easy.
JIPL also supplied a grit removal system in the form of a coarse bubble system, which they installed along the wall of the tank to provide the appropriate agitation required to remove incoming grit.
With this system, JIPL provided the Tahuna WWTP with a solution that answered the key requirements of flexibility, efficiency, and practicality.
